Making Money With Photographs

One of my favorite bloggers who recently took a trip to a river and camped this past weekend mentioned something I have been looking into myself lately. Making money with photography on the internet. The fact that there are so many ways to make serious cash with a computer is mind blowing to me. Some of these guys are making hundreds of dollars in one day. I think my ticket to making it big is going to be photography.

One of the best places to start if you want to make money with images is Istockphoto which is probably most peoples favorite for buying and downloading images. The royalties vary depending on if you become an exclusive photographer for Istock Photo or not. They also have quite a few rules on photographing humans. In most cases you have to have a release. If you are shooting scenery, then you are fine. The hard part is getting into their good graces. They are very strict about the quality of images that are sold. If you are a beginner then this is probably not going to be the best option. You could start a photo blog or a photo website and try to sell images on your own. Once you become more experienced, then you can submit a few samples to Istock and see if you are able to get accepted.

I was absolutely amazed at how many people are making a killing doing this. Some photographers have thousands of images on Istock for sale. I have seen some photos downloaded thousands of times. You can imagine on a thousand downloads what a person could make at a dollar per image.

Next month a few friends and I are going to give it a shot and see how it goes. The guy I mentioned earlier said he is trying to get a friend to sell images. You can see some of the ones he posted at his make money online blog called Whatawookie. I’m not sure what his name is either so I will leave you with that.If any of you are already making some good money with your photos, let me know by leaving a comment. I’m curious to see how well others have done with actual figures.

Work at Home Computer Training

Computer training comes in all forms, such as online, classroom, on-the-job and at-home/software. They range from in-depth career training to instructing on a one to  one type of software program

IT is impacting all areas of business today and many people are finding themselves drawn to an IT career whether it is in computer support and repair or a more artistic field like web design or computer graphics or even data recovery services.

Salaries vary in the IT industry but the  U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts tremendous growth in this field, estimating a 27-53% increase by 2016. The average salary for someone working in the computer industry fluctuates between $50,000 and $80,000, depending on the specific job title. On the low end of the spectrum are analysts; while at the high end are engineers.

Computer training comes in all manner of forms so if you were taking Microsoft certification this will demonstrate to employers that you have a mastery of Microsoft Office 2007 and Windows Vista. The Technology Series allows you to become a Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), which showcases your ability to build, troubleshoot, debug and implement a Windows server, Microsoft .NET framework or Microsoft SQL server.

However, when contemplating a career change, local colleges offer more in-depth computer training courses like computer engineering, troubleshooting, networking and programming.

Computer training varies widely. Beginners can take basic computer classes that teach how to turn on a computer, set up passwords and customize the desktop. Students will find out how to save information on a hard drive, flash drive and CD/DVD ROM drive, as well as how to retrieve and organize their files.

More advanced training brings more opportunities, the math-science brain may prefer a career in network security or system analytics. Business-minded individuals would perhaps like to be technology trainers, system administrators or information system managers and the more artistically-inclined may want to be a graphic designer, game tester or a web developer.

If you just want to beef up your basic skills though then it would be worth asking one of  the local computer repair companies as often the offer computer help as well.
